Our dental practice is dedicated to providing comprehensive oral care to patients in Crestmead and the surrounding areas. We understand the importance of regular dental check-ups and cleanings to maintain optimal oral health. As part of our commitment to your dental well-being, we offer a range of services, including dental implants, to restore and enhance your smile.

Dental implants are an excellent option for individuals who have lost one or more teeth due to decay, injury, or other dental issues. They are a long term solution to help restore the look and function of your original teeth.

Implant placement

The Dental Implant Procedure

1. Consultation

During your initial consultation, our dental team will assess your oral health, discuss your treatment goals, and determine if dental implants are the right option for you. We will explain the procedure in detail, address any concerns you may have, and develop a personalised treatment plan.

2. Implant Placement

The dental implant placement is a surgical procedure that involves inserting a titanium implant into the jawbone. This implant acts as an artificial tooth root, providing a stable foundation for the replacement tooth or teeth.

3. Healing and Osseointegration

After the implant placement, a healing period is necessary to allow the implant to fuse with the surrounding jawbone through a process called osseointegration. This integration ensures the long-term stability of the implant.

4. Abutment Placement

Once the implant has fully integrated with the jawbone, an abutment is attached to the implant. The abutment serves as a connector between the implant and the final restoration.

5. Final Restoration

The final step involves attaching the custom-made dental crown, bridge, or denture to the abutment. Our dental team will ensure that the restoration blends well with the shape, size, and colour of your natural teeth, providing you with a beautiful and functional smile.

Why Choose Crestmead Dental for Your Dental Implants?

Here’s why Crestmead Dental is the perfect place to get dental implants

The Impact of Missing Teeth and the Power of Dental Implants

Whether you're dealing with a single missing tooth or multiple missing teeth, it can feel overwhelming and affect your overall oral health. At Crestmead Dental, we understand the importance of having a full set of teeth, not just for aesthetic reasons but also for practical ones such as eating and speaking comfortably. Dental implants, a central part of restorative dentistry, provide a solid solution for tooth loss. They serve as a reliable tooth replacement option, blending nicely with your remaining teeth to provide a complete smile.

Bone Grafting: Strengthening Your Jaw for Dental Implants

In some instances, the success of implant treatment depends on the condition of the jaw bone. Patients with significant bone loss may require a bone grafting procedure before the dental implant surgery. Bone grafting is a technique used to augment the jaw bone, facilitating the successful placement of the dental implant. This process is particularly useful when placing implants adjacent to natural teeth, as it helps maintain the structural integrity of the entire dental arch.

The Importance of Gum Health in Implant Therapy

During the dental implant procedure, we ensure the protection and preservation of your gum tissue, a crucial element of maintaining good oral health. The healthy gum around an implant fill the space between it and the adjacent teeth, to ensure food and plaque doesn’t get trapped between them, or around the implant, which can cause gum disease and the deteriorating of the supporting bone over time. Gum disease is a common problem that can lead to tooth loss and complicate dental implant therapy. We're committed to preventing and treating gum disease to protect not only your implants but also your surrounding teeth

A Broad Spectrum of Treatments at Crestmead Dental

The treatment landscape in dentistry is broad. Crestmead Dental offers a range of treatments, including those for tooth decay such as root canal treatment, and procedures like wisdom teeth removal. We also offer children's dentistry services, aimed at promoting good oral health habits from a young age. Our preventative dentistry approach aligns with the guidelines set out by the Australian Dental Association and is designed to help our patients maintain healthy teeth and gums for life.

Dental Implants and Dentures: Solutions for Extensive Tooth Loss

Dental implants can replace anything from a single tooth to a full arch. In cases of extensive tooth loss, dentures might be the recommended treatment. Modern dentures, often supported by dental implants, offer a more stable and comfortable experience than traditional false teeth. Whether you're receiving a dental bridge, an artificial tooth, or dentures, we strive to deliver treatments that provide natural, functional, and aesthetic results.

Tailoring Treatment to Each Unique Smile

At Crestmead Dental, we don't merely focus on treating problems; we're dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of your smile through cosmetic dentistry. We tailor each treatment to the patient's unique needs, ensuring that the end result – whether it's a single prosthetic tooth or a full set of dentures – perfectly matches the shape, size, and colour of the existing teeth.

Comprehensive Care for Your Dental Health

By entrusting your oral health to us, you're not just getting treatment; you're receiving comprehensive care that respects your individual needs, values your comfort, and aims to deliver the best possible outcome.
