Teeth VENEERS MARSDEN & LOGAN

Teeth Veneers

Veneers are thin moulds, commonly made from porcelain, that are placed on the front surface of a tooth. They are an effective solution for correcting stained, crooked, or chipped teeth, and can also be used for covering gaps between teeth where orthodontic treatment cannot be used.

Veneers improve the aesthetics of your smile by being bonded to the front surface of the tooth only – no extractions needed – and they take the shape, size, and colour of regular teeth, creating a natural look. Discuss with your dentist to find a healthy shade of white that looks great in your mouth. Our dentists at Crestmead Dental are fully trained and qualified to give patients amazing veneers. We use the latest technology to get quality results for every procedure.

Why Choose Veneers?

Veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry treatment for multiple reasons, including:

Improving teeth colour

Over time, teeth can become a yellowish colour. This can occur naturally or because of lifestyle choices such as drinking coffee or smoking. Tooth discolouration can also be a result of medical treatments, such as high doses of antibiotics. In some cases, veneers are a better choice to achieve whiter teeth than tooth whitening, depending on the health of the natural tooth.

Improve the shape of teeth

Teeth can be too small or too short naturally, which can reduce your confidence in your smile. Veneers can completely remodel and transform your smile.

Improving alignment

People who need to straighten their teeth without using braces may require dental veneers. This is a quick way to cover gaps and correct irregular teeth. This treatment is not advisable for younger patients because it involves removing healthy tooth enamel, which cannot be reversed.

Repair damage from tooth grinding

People who have suffered from tooth grinding, also known as bruxism, may have worn the enamel off of their teeth. Applying veneers can help restore the cosmetic appearance. It also reduces tooth sensitivity to hot or cold foods and drinks

Types of Veneers

There are two main types of veneers that can help transform your look:

Porcelain

Porcelain veneers are a thin shell that is bonded to the front of the teeth, and their appearance resembles that of a natural tooth. They can also be made to fit into the gap left by part of a missing tooth. These can be added to your dental formula after your dentist prepares the teeth by removing small amounts of enamel. The dentist then makes a mold of the prepared teeth, and attaches the custom-porcelain shells to fit.

Custom Resin

These veneers are made from a tooth-coloured resin material and are bonded to the tooth. They are easy to attach, although aren’t as durable as porcelain.

Custom resin veneers don’t require too much natural enamel to be removed. Our dentists sculpt the composite material, harden it using a specialist light, and then polish it to resemble natural teeth.
