What are Fissure Sealants?

Fissure sealants are a thin hard plastic coating that flows into the pits and grooves of your teeth. These pits and grooves can trap more food and plaque, and are a common spot where decay can develop. Fissure sealants help to cover up these areas. The sealant is set hard and can last a number of years.
